Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data, and what rights you have over it.
Who We Are
I Need Broadband Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), registered in England & Wales (Company No. 6056408), registered office Unit 1, Beggarlee Park, Engine Lane, Nottingham, NG16 3RN, provides broadband and telephone services to homes, businesses, councils and schools across Nottingham and the East Midlands. This policy explains how we handle personal data in connection with our website, our services, and our dealings with customers, prospective customers and site visitors.
What Data We Collect
- Contact details you give us — name, email address, phone number, postal address
- Account and billing information when you order a service via our customer portal
- Postcode and address details submitted to our coverage checker
- Technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, gathered automatically via cookies (see Cookies section below)
- Any information you provide when contacting support, raising a complaint, or requesting a survey
Why We Collect It & Our Legal Basis
- To provide our services — processing your order, billing, and delivering support (legal basis: performance of a contract)
- To check coverage at your address — checking postcode/address data against our network and partner availability checkers (legal basis: legitimate interest / steps prior to a contract)
- To send marketing communications — only where you've given clear, opt-in consent, and you can withdraw this at any time (legal basis: consent)
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations — such as billing records and complaint handling (legal basis: legal obligation)
How Long We Keep Data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected for, including to satisfy any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. [ADD SPECIFIC RETENTION PERIODS — e.g. customer account data retained for the duration of service plus a defined period after, coverage-check enquiries retained for a shorter defined period.]
Sharing Your Data
We share data with trusted suppliers where necessary to deliver our service — for example, network/coverage-checking partners (such as Nasstar), our billing platform (WHMCS), and hosting providers. Where a supplier processes personal data on our behalf, we put a data processing agreement in place setting out their responsibilities and requiring them to meet data protection standards equivalent to our own. We do not sell your personal data.
